Within the National Park
Along the way we saw falls,
Gibbon Falls
Buffalo
in different areas of the park, and Elk making themselves at home within the town of Mammoth Springs.

Roaring Mountain was a very interesting site. Steam can be seen escaping from multiple vents:
In Norris, Steamboat Geyser, has the title of "World's Tallest Active Geyser, with Unpredictable, Infrequent Major Eruptions of more than 300 ft. Last Major Eruption was September 3, 2014."
Also in Norris, is the Emerald Hot Spring
Notice bubbling water on the bottom left. |
Fumaroles (vents that let off steam)
Today, we went to check out other campgrounds in the Gallatin National Forest. This is near West Yellowstone There was a beautiful lake adjacent to the campground: Lake Hegben. We enjoyed a picnic lunch there. However, the roads were so hard to travel with our truck, that we could not imagine ever attempting to bring our RV in there!
Stay tuned!
We wish we were there with you. Love the updates.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great looking boardwalk that travels through the Fumaroles. Too bad the National Park Service doesn't need a structural guy to inspect those. Maybe a free trip?
