Homer – Days 3 & 4

This beautiful paradise composed of a strip of land jutting into the Ocean, surrounded by snow-capped mountains is indeed a scenic wonder.

However, unless you are deep sea fishing or flying to one of the many nearby glaciers, there are limitations on activities.  One can fish in the “lagoon” (which does provide excellent opportunities for catching salmon), or one can kayak, bike, or walk up and down the strip till your heart’s content.  Lastly, the other option is to simply relax and totally enjoy the beauty.

Well, these travelers, have opted for the last 3 options mentioned above.  We have walked and biked the strip several times and have certainly relaxed by our site mesmerized by the surrounding beauty.  We were hoping to kayak, however the nearby lake is closed to anyone other than those using it as a landing strip for the seaplanes.  The body of water behind us didn’t allow us to kayak, due to the high winds and currents.

Today, we were treated to several subjects that initially eluded us, but today they came by to show their majestic beauty and strength.  As if to say, thanks for visiting …

  1. Those Bald Eagles are truly an awesome sight. I know the boys would love to see those in person and in the wild. I would too.
