Palmer - Day 3

A little geography sprinkled in here: Should have mentioned that Palmer represents the commercial center of the “Mat-Su Valley”.  (Matanuska and Susitna Valley).  The Matanuska and Susitna Rivers are adjacent to Palmer.

We knew rain was on its way, so we high-tailed it after breakfast and went for a long bike ride.  We were able to bike out of our campground and worked our way through the mountain roads to the bike path.  The temperature was 58 degrees when we started the ride.  Very little, if any wind.
The path rides along a large portion of the Matanuska River.   As you can see, a beautiful setting surrounded by the Talkeetna and Chugach mountain ranges.  We drove over a retired bridge that is now used solely for foot and bike traffic.

Upon returning to the campground, we came across these little fellas from the farm next door.

We will head to Valdez tomorrow.
