Drove up yesterday from Seward. The 2 towns could not be more different or
apart from each other. One is a coastal
fishing village and the other is the agricultural center of Alaska.
The RV parks are also very different from each other. In Seward, it was a very hectic hustling RV
park. Activity started by 6am with
fishermen getting in their boats. Staff
would fire up the machines to get them into the water. Kayakers on charters, would be not far
behind. Since the place also has guided
trips into the Bay, they too would be going out and coming in all day
long. Finally, the RV travelers
themselves. They too coming and going at
all hours. I guess we did not realize the
impact it was having on our sleep or lack off.
In our new RV park, nestled in the mountains, it is very quiet. So much in fact that we slept until 8am this
morning. That was shocking to us both
since that never happens.
The trip up was uneventful.
The ride was identical except in the opposite direction when we traveled from Anchorage to Homer. We stopped in Anchorage to visit Sam’s and
resupply. The store was identical to all
others except for the price. Things are
very expensive in AK. Probably due to
the added shipping costs.
Notice "Moose" sign seen on all AK Hwys. 346 hit on the roads this year |

Busy City! I understand they grow the largest vegtables in the US, mostly cool weather crops.
