Telkwa
Telkwa, BC (7/12/2016)
It was another
beautiful ride, out of Stewart, along the Glacier Hwy (Hwy. 37A). Sad to leave this place. The campground, its mountains, the surrounding
glaciers. It was a great three days
there. Here are some pictures we took on
the ride out:
As previously mentioned, logging is prevalent in this region. We continually see these trucks as we travel the Canadian roads. You may miss the truck in the picture below...
We got back
onto the Cassier Hwy, 37, and continued south.
So interesting, that this Highway was so challenging and stressful north
of the junction at Stewart, but heading south, it was anything but. One could almost describe it as smooth. Well, almost.
Three construction sites, 2 of which were for tree/brush cutting.
It was
drizzling by the time we went through the Cassiar Mountains. Here are some of our favorite pictures. Actually, we’re not sure if we’ve ever met a
mountain or glacier that we didn’t love.
We “landed”
in Telkwa, BC before noon. Very easy
ride. This campground is on the Telkwa
River and our campsite backs up to the water.
We took a walk by the river, but it was already raining lightly, and by
the time we got back to the trailer, is was pouring. Rained the rest of the day and evening, so we
never got a chance to enjoy the view.
Tomorrow,
onto Prince George, the northern capitol of BC.
Exactly, there isn't a bad pic!
