Valemount

Valemount, BC

Yesterday we visited local Ford dealership to check the annoying message “Check Coolant Additives”.  It turns out Ford is no longer using additives on the new diesels and the message is a remnant of the past.  Just needed to be cleared.  We were very glad that our champ of a truck continues to perform at its best.  Not to mention service cost.  Although it is still new to us, we have gone over the 12,000 miles warranty coverage provided to vehicles.  As consumers, we need to work on that limit!

We were so happy to see the sun for our trip this morning!  It has rained on and off, mostly on, for almost 3 days.  There was a downside to that rain, right at our campsite.  It took 4 wheel drive (low), to pull the trailer out of the deep, wet sand and onto the campground road!

As we drove, we could see rain clouds.  We realized that we were probably heading into the rain that we’ve been exposed to the last few days.  Drizzle was the most we received though.  In the distance, we could see the mountain ranges: Willmore Wilderness Park and Jasper National park.

We are still on a new route for us.  Valemount, is just south of the Trans Canada Hwy 16, on Hwy 5.  The RV park is very nice, with mountains almost all around us.  We unhitched to go to town for lunch and look around.  Very quaint village, with Swiss and German overtones.

Tomorrow, we will drive through Alberta (Mountain Time), but we will again spend the night in BC (Pacific Time).  We are heading to Fairmont Hot Springs, BC  It will be our last night in Canada.
