Estes Park, The Town

Hello Everyone

After much work to remove the snow from our truck, we just had to leave our RV and do a little exploring.  Off to town we went.

It is just a 5 mile drive into Estes Park.  A beautiful town nestled in the mountains providing among many things, the routes leading into the entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park.  Incidentally, closed today due to weather.  So was the visitor center.

Notice the 5 & 10 store in the left.  This street ends ahead downtown

Driving through town, we were surprised to see all the crowds walking into all the shops downtown.  We found movie theaters and restaurants that will need to be visited.  There is also a Safeway Supermarket.  It is one of two places to shop for groceries for many miles. The other is a local store.  We enjoyed the Safeway parking lot that had their trees main trunks covered by colorful knitted material.  Enlarge picture if necessary:

In addition, we also found the next campground (Manor Park) on the other side of town.  Glad we made this run without our rig.  The route used would have been treacherous if we would have taken our rig.  This forced us to visit the park's management office to ask if a better route existed to bring a 37 footer into their park. Glad we did.  They provided a map, highlighted for us and showed us a better route to use next week.

During our exploring and driving through town we came across the following visitors:
