YMCA of the Rockies

Hi Everyone

Today we learned a few things when it comes to the YMCA.  We have not yet figured out why this "Y" is so different from anything else we have seen anywhere else in the country.  This facility is huge!  It is a city within a city.  There are several lodges.  Countless cabins of different sizes with and without balconies and porches.  Several churches, a stand- alone building for the indoor pool, its own Post Office and a huge stable with numerous horses.

It appears that Photos by Dill has a contract and serves as a concessionaire for the YMCA of the Rockies.  They have their trailer in this "city" where we will be working out of the rest of the summer.

We met Sherry Dill this morning and we proceeded to the administration building for a tour and to their HR department for our ID badges.  One of the many perks is access to the employee dining facility where we can obtain all 3 meals of the day at no cost to us as long as we have our employee IDs.  We had a great lunch today!

Since we were on our own after getting the IDs, we toured the facility and learned the location of several buildings that we may use later on.

Afterwards, we took a walk and did a little birding around Estes Park Lake.  The lake is very large and has a beautiful walking/biking path that provides vistas worth filming 360 degrees around the lake.  We can't wait until biking around this lake.  We wanted to take a long walk but the winds and cold temps forced us to just have a little taste of its birds and beauty before feeling chills.

When we got back to our campground, it looked a lot different than when we left.  Many more trailers came in while we were gone.  Many more have come in since then!  There are very few sites left.  We'll be looking forward to Monday, when it's quiet again!

Till next time!  Keep you posted!
