4th of July and Eel Lake

It's us again!  We had an excellent July 4th celebration.  All of the volunteer couples (5) got together to barbecue that evening.  The family of our volunteer coordinator couple came as well.  There was an overabundance of food.  No one was complaining!
One of the volunteers brought the bubbles.  That is an understatement.  It came in a 5 gallon bucket, with a homemade bubble delivery system!  See pics below.   After we ate, we sat around a gas operated fire pit and chatted for the rest of the evening.

There was a fireworks show later on, in Winchester Bay.  We were able to view it from our trailer window.

The wind cooperated with us, and we were able to go kayaking at Tugman State Park yesterday.  This park is just under 5 miles from us.  The lake is tranquil and beautiful.  The water was so clear!  As you can see in pics below, we were fortunate enough to visit with 2 bald eagles.

Soon after taking this picture in flight of this eagle, he / she made a turn and dove to fly away with a good size fish for dinner.  Unfortunately, photographer could not turn kayak around fast enough to capture that event.

We couldn't believe how close he/she let us get.  We watched and spoke to this bird for several minutes.

Until next time!
